Pietra means "stone" and the pattern replicates a stone slab without the wear and tear of the natural stone: the surface is not porous, extremely smooth (but antislip) and easy to clean.

The stainless steel waste cover is the same colour as the shower tray.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY SHOULD I USE THE DOMUS SHOWER FLOORS INSTEAD OF TILES?
We are proposing our ultra thin shower floors as an alternative to tiles rather than an alternative to the old school white plastic shower trays.
Their architectural impact in a bathroom makes them more similar to a "big tile", so they are the perfect tile-replacement.
Texture and the choice of colours matches easily with other bathroom elements creating an harmonious environment.
A tiled shower floor is so popular nowadays but can lead to expensive problems i.e (tiles popping off, grout damages, water leaking). These can be very common issues.
WHAT PROBLEMS CAN I AVOID BY HAVING A DOMUS SHOWER FLOOR?
Domus shower floors eliminate the most common and most problematic bathroom issue: a leaking shower floor.
A leaking shower is a very common problem, a high percentage of households have to rebuild a bathroom every 5 years, some even more often. Structural movement, cracking grout or incorrect application of the waterproof membrane (ex. in Victoria builders are not required to have any waterproofing license), are just some of the problems that can occur in a tiled shower floor.
They also eliminate all the problems connected to the grout: cleaning issues, mould, cracks.
WHAT'S THE DOMUS SHOWER FLOOR MADE OF?
Domus shower floors are not made using conventional solid surface materials, but a much harder material. They have a main body made from a mixture of minerals and acrylic resins. On the surface as well as sides there is a thick technical glaze known as a Gelcoat. This Gelcoat makes the surface extremely scratch resistant, stain resistant and anti slip but still remains soft to the touch.
Conceptually they are similar to a big tile but a lot safer for use in a shower.
HOW DO I INSTALL THE SHOWER FLOOR?
Begin by referring to our installation page. The installation of our shower floors is much easier than installing tiles into the shower area: you need just a flat bathroom floor.
To start, the bathroom floor must be flat as the shower tray has an inbuilt gradient, forcing all the water to the waste. We recommend to use a device such a 100mm puddle flange or a smart pan to be installed right under the shower tray waste. The shower floor is glued with tile glue.

Wall tiles will sit on the top of the shower tray edge (leaving 3 mm of gap to be sealed with silicon), the floor tiles will sit to the shower tray side (leaving 3 mm of gap to be sealed with silicon).
